How does the power of one NGO benefit the senior citizen's sector in India?

Due to the excessive growth of nuclear families in the country, several old-age or nursing homes are also being added. If you wonder how it relates to each other, the story is about modernized kids with small families finding it tough to accommodate their old-age parents in their homes and lives. The changes in culture, social and physiological manner experience a big understanding gap between young minds and elderly beliefs and habits. Hence, the well-settled families locate some shelters meant to support old age people and shift their old parents and relatives there. Many unfortunate older adults have no one to expect from.

NGOs working for elderly citizen

NGOs are non-profit organizations developed into teams that work voluntarily and extend their helping hands into different sectors like education, medication, employment, women empowerment, developing rural areas, old-age homes, etc. These NGOs have high numbers in India, and some are the best NGOs in India due to their appreciative deeds. These NGOs work with their specific plans. Some support help in a particular area, whereas others extend their helping hands and support the needy and poor.

The Power of One NGO is one of the top NGO in Nagpur, established in 2016. Since then, the Power of One has served thousands of people differently. Not only humans, but the team keeps a soft corner and a will to help other living creatures, including stray dogs. The Power of One team is well recognized for their selfless acts in Nagpur and other regions.

How does the Power of One help older people?

Old age, when you're left all alone or have no one to expect from, seems like a punishment. Several financially sound senior people still seem unhappy and unwilling to live their rest years. Loneliness and dependency are the significant reasons at this age that end all their joys and want to continue breathing. Mental illness and gradual weakness are primary reasons that require them to look for supporting hands.

To date, the Power of One team has attended many old Nagpur residents, helping them in various ways like providing food and groceries to the destitute, medical help, clothes, shelter, etc.

For instance, in an event, they supported an old lady with free eye surgery, an old beggar, unable to walk, with a wheelchair and good clothes and food, groceries for the destitute, especially during the covid - 19, and lots more. Besides providing materialistic and financial help, the team also makes an effort to spend time with them and help them mentally. Lack of care and loneliness are not recorded diseases but badly affect mentally.

Not all young minds have zero emotions for them. Sometimes, poor financial conditions force them to look for an old home, hoping they get both attention and timely care. Sometimes, NGOs provide them with the necessary support, and they need not part away from their homes and dear ones.

Conclusion:

Humanity matters, and we all understand this. Still, not all of us can manage time or funds to support every older person in our surroundings. But we can donate some bucks, food, clothes, etc., to teams who are part of the senior citizen NGO in India.
